Yoga in School. Bliss Kid Yoga gives children the opportunity to thrive in a supportive and non-competitive environment. Children engage in cooperative games and learn mindful practices that give them the tools to handle complicated social situations while respecting themselves and one another. When we connect with ourselves through mindful practices such as yoga we are able to connect with others in a more meaningful and respectful way. Our program helps children to mindfully navigate through their lives creating a more positive environment for everyone around them.

TEKS (Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills). Our classes bring the TEKS to life! The Bliss Kid Yoga curriculum incorporates and reinforces many TEKS from reading (predictions, summary, story elements, sequence), math (number & operations, geometry), science (earth & space, force & motion, organisms & environment), social studies (citizenship, culture), music (creative expression), art (creative expression), and physical activity & health (movement, health behaviors, personal/interpersonal skills). Our curriculum is also directly aligned to the SEL standards of self-awareness, self-management, and social interactions.

Class Focus. Our classes are designed to nurture a child’s innate bliss by engaging mind, body and spirit. We cohesively combine all of the following elements with story-telling and music to provide a playful and creative approach to yoga in a comfortable and safe environment.

Breath Awareness Techniques: Increase focus, reduce stress and promote self-regulation.

Yoga Poses: Increase strength and flexibility, body awareness, and coordination.

Cooperative Games: Promote positive social interactions, communication, and confidence.

Meditation: Enhance concentration, reduce stress and provide a vehicle to arrive in the present.

Mindfulness: Learn healthy habits, self-awareness, and non-violence.

Relaxation: Cultivate a peaceful sense of being and rejuvenate.
